A visit from Grandma Kelly...

The second week Nathan had off school, his mom came to visit. We LOVE it when we get visitors and we had so much fun with her. We tried to show her what we knew of Kansas City so far, and we explored some new stuff too. The boys were in heaven having someone else to interact with besides Nathan and I! And as in Angie fashion, there are a million pictures. Between Grandma's camera and mine, we had quite the photo shoot!! These are also out of order, but my computer is not cooperating, so they will stay out of order... sorry!!
We went to Legoland and the Aquarium one day. I had never been to a Legoland before and it was actually pretty fun. They had rides and a 4d movie along with games and such.

They had a room that was the entire city of Kansas City made out of Legos. Here is the race track..
And the soccer stadium...

And the football stadium...
And the baseball stadium.
They also had all of Wizard of Oz... Here is the Emerald City
And here is downtown Kansas City
Carter and I on the ride. He loved it... It kind of made me sick :)

And here is the little man...

So cute!!

This one's pretty cute too!!

We also went to an indoor bounce house place called Fun Run. Carter LOVES to go there and he had a lot of fun. Even met a little girl to play with that just followed him around and told him what to do:) Carter didn't seem to mind though..

Lunch at Crown Center after the aquarium and Legoland...

Grandma got some caramel corn, and Chase decided he needed it!

Frozen custard... soooo good

And one tired little boy...

And here we are back at Fun Run...

I love his face in this picture!

They have this little town set up at Fun Run too with a barber shop, grocery store, jail, clothing store and things like that...

Chase got in on the action too...

We saw a restaurant on Diners, Drive-in's and Dives that we wanted to try called Grinders, so we went one day. I would call it more of a Dive, but the food was good and atmosphere was really fun I thought.

We also went to Union Station. It's the old train hub in Kansas City where all the trains use to run through. It's like the Grand Central Station of Kansas City.
They have a huge room full of model train displays that is pretty cool

They also have a science center in there that we decided to check out. It was pretty fun, but maybe a tad bit too old for Carter, but we still had a lot of fun

Dancing in front of the shadow wall. The camera cut out their shadows, but both the boys were loving this!

The space shuttle display

Chase was loving the electricity ball...

Kansas City is famous for BBQ. When we ask the people who have lived here their whole lives, or for just a little while what the best BBQ place is, nearly everyone says Oklahoma Joe's. So we went and checked it out.
It's honestly in a gas station. Half of it is restaurant, and the other half is chips, candy and pop and gas...
Chase liked it :)
Carter saw the McDonalds commercial for fish mcbites and was loving the song. So Nathan and Grandma found it on her phone, and we never heard the end of it!!
This is what Chase got to eat, lucky boy!

And here we are back at the Science Center. They had a little animal/reptile building so of course we went in that one...

Chase was obsessed with watching the turtle swim. He would scream every time I took him away from it..

Who is stronger?

And some snuggles...

And some more strength tests...

And here we are at the aquarium. Chase LOVED watching the fish swim..

The petting pool...

On Friday night we went to the indoor water park. Both the boys love the water! Carter got brave this time and went down some of the big water slides by himself...

Taking a lap in the lazy river..

One of the days Grandma was here we got our second big snow storm, so we had some play time inside...

And of course some more fishy fishy!
Grandma loves chocolate, so we took her to the famous Christopher Elbow chocolate shop which was featured on Oprah's favorite things...

They were too pretty (and too expensive) to eat... but someone had to do it :)

There was a lot of books read while Grandma was here too...

The smile right before he ruined the track...

Thank you so much for coming Grandma Kelly!! We had so much fun and can't wait for you to come back!! Thanks for everything!!!!!

  1. It's crazy how much those two boys don't look alike. Ad wow, those chocolates certainly do look fancy! Looks like kansas city has enough fun things to keep you busy for a few years. :)
