Waterton Lakes National Park in Alberta Canada is where my dad grew up. My grandparents lived there and I have so many great memories of visiting here while growing up. It is the most beautiful place on earth, to me, and I was so excited to take my kids there with their Grandpa. I hope we get to go there often and they get to create their own memories here!! So while we were in Spokane, I really wanted to make a trip up because I don't think we will get another chance for a while.
It was quite a drive so the first thing we did when we got there was let the kids run outside!!! |
My aunt Tracy and her kids Caitlin and Kobe came too. Carter was obsessed with Kobe!! They were buds the whole time!! |
The Prince of Wales Hotel |
My parents brought up their scooters, so we all took turns riding around town. Caitlin and Tessa took them for the first run |
We headed right down to the lake to throw some rocks... |
Grandpa and Carter |
Grandma and Tracy looking at something on their phones... funny I thought |
Chase really loved throwing rocks...and eating them :) |
Looks like Chase was loving on daddy, but I'm pretty sure Nathan was just blocking him from going in the lake :) |
Swing!!!! |
Chase was in heaven being outside!! |
Grandma and Grandpa went for several scooter rides! |
The next day we headed up to Red Rock... On the way we saw this brown bear |
Carter was pretty excited to see a bear |
Hiking up to the top bridge |
Carter really wanted to walk on the log so daddy helped |
Our friend was still there on the way back... |
We also saw this moose hanging out... |
Then we headed up to the Prince of Wales... This is the hotel that sits up on the hill overlooking Waterton |
Waterton Lake...The very end of this lake is in the United States... |
Every direction you look is another beautiful view |
Carter got a little scooter ride too |
The main reason I wanted to get up to Waterton was to see my Grandma. I haven't seen her for a few years and it was so good to see her! |
Four generations |
We also made it up the Bears Hump. It's a really hard, straight up hike, but the view from the top is well worth the pain :) |
Waterton town |
Caitlin and Kobe never got tired... oh to be a teenager again! |
This little squirrel was talking to Nathan.. it was so funny. Nathan would make sounds at it and it would make sounds back. I think it wanted food |
We use to do this hike with my Grandpa every time we came. He would bring us candy bars to eat at the top! |
Nathan's face in this picture cracks me up... so Nathan |
Cameron Falls... right next to my grandparents house. |
Nathan and I took the scooters for a spin too. I was so happy we made the trip up there. It was so worth it and it always bring back such happy childhood memories for me!! |
So beautiful! I didn't know this is where your dad grew up... my friend Max, who I met in Dubai, lives in Waterton and owns some hot dog place. Did you eat at a hot dog place and see a guy who totally looks like Jared Leto? That's my Max! :) haha! Anyway, small world!
